Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), any personal data processing operations an organisation undertakes must be subject to organisational and technical measures to ensure the processing is compliant with the legislation. Conducting and documenting a data privacy impact assessment (DPIA) whenever your organisation embarks on new, high-risk data processing is vital to ensure that you do this and is a key requirement of data protection (DP) legislation.
URM’s half day course will address all aspects of conducting a DPIA, providing you with the confidence and capability to perform the assessment in line with the requirements of the legislation. While a basic understanding of data protection law and key terminology associated with it would be beneficial, there are no mandatory prerequisites for attending.
URM’S DPIA Course Will Teach You:
- What a DPIA is and why it’s important
- The benefits for your organisation and your data subjects
- When DPIAs need to be conducted and who should be involved
- How to perform and document a DPIA in practice, including:
– The completion of an example template
– Practical hints and tips
– Pitfalls to avoid.
